I may have been a touch on tilt when I played this hand.
I'd lost AQ vs A3 all in on an A75 board when the turn and river were 6 and 4... I declared AQ oppo said AQ is good, then as the dealer started to push the chips my way said - "oh, no it's not, straight..." and finally turned his cards over.
A reload went south very soon after when KK<AA all in pre - this sh1t happens, but the chips had barely touched the felt before they were lost

and shortly after that we come to the hand in question

I straddle to £2, playing £200 having just reloaded for the second time...
folds to Hijack (Villain playing £350ish) who makes it £6.50 Button and BB both call as do I with   - error one I guess?

Flop
Pot is £27

I bet £22
Hijack raises to £49
Button and BB fold

thoughts thus far? don't hold back - I'm already wearing the hair shirt and contemplating self-flagellation...

edit: Villain is a winning online player at HE and PLO and a consistent winner here too. Youngish, thinking player with a fair share of moves...

I call now and get it in on non spade or 10J turns. Obv don't love it but don't wanna raise flop again.

Jam it in his eye

I'd prefer just calling flop and getting it in on most turns if we were in position but its really hard to get him to bluff it off when we're OOP.

Assuming your description of the player is correct then get it in.  You are beating most of his range and he might call it off when behind.  Lot of turn cards that would be ugly and hard to play oop.

So the consensus is that we're good so far?

Call pre is ok given the situation?

and bet calling the flop?

It may be that this is more PH Anal than PH Analysis

I'm doubting it all because it came at the end of a horrible session and of course he'd raised  and flopped the straight.
