5th ANNUAL WSOPE OFFERS SEVEN GOLD BRACELETS
WSOPE Set for October 7th to 20th in Cannes, France
LAS VEGAS – May 9, 2011 – The fifth annual World Series of Poker Europe Presented by BarrierePoker.fr has solidified its tournament schedule.
Players will be welcomed into the outstanding and unique settings of the Casino Barrière de Cannes Croisette and the Hôtel Majestic Barrière in the scenic French city of Cannes for a two-week slate of events commencing on October 7 and running through October 20, 2011.
The 2011 WSOPE will feature seven bracelet tournaments this year – the most ever offered at this prestigious event.
“Our new venue in Cannes along with our new partnership with Barrière Poker will offer the best player experience we have ever had for WSOP Europe,” said WSOP vice president Ty Stewart. “Players will find non-stop action throughout the two-week event, plus plenty of fun distractions in Cannes to make this the perfect poker vacation.”
A Six-Handed No Limit Hold’em event will kick off the tournament on Friday, October 7 at 5:00 PM, and feature a €2,500 + €180 buy-in and a 3-day structure.
Other events include No Limit Hold’em, No Limit Hold’em Shootout, Pot Limit Omaha, a six-handed Pot Limit Omaha, and a €10,000 + €400 buy-in No Limit Hold’em Main Event.
The most exciting new addition to the schedule is a unique split format event. This special four-day event will play Day 1 as 9-handed, Day 2 as six-handed, Day 3 as Heads-Up and the final table will be contested heads up. It’s being dubbed as All-Around No Limit Hold’em Championship and will feature a €10,000 + €400 buy-in.
These seven tournaments will be sanctioned gold bracelet events. Non-stop cash games and other events will also be scheduled during the tournament, as well as a bevy of satellite tournaments.
