Do they win anything bar a trophy?

Years job somehwere or anything?

Just the trophy I think. I can't imagine they'd have much trouble getting a decent job off the back of the win though.

Series got better as it went on imo, gradually slid back towards the old format.

Not sure I'd believe the three finalists came up with such complicated menus without help after weeks off hard slog though. Tim a deserving winner.

I do find it a bit suspect that the final dishes are always so good, when earlier episodes have mistakes in them.

That said I imagine they get a bit of time off before the final to go and practice. They'll have learnt lessons as the series goes on. And they were given 3 hours so much more prep time and less likely to be under stress. But given how much was going on I think they'll have needed those 3 hours.

I wish someone would get all the way to the final and serve super noodles or something.

I thought the idea was that the skills learnt are ideally showcased - like Sara learning how to use dry ice in front of the academics and then using it again in the final to get her sorbet to set.

I got the impression that they highlight the positives in the final programme and just don't highlight the errors so much. Greg obv didn't like one of the burgers as much as the others as he said something along the lines of "Two of those were absolutely superb" he just didn't diss the other.

Talking of Sara - if she said once more how much of a 'journey' it was I was going to scream. It did turn a bit X factor for me in the last programme - lots of trembling lips and glistening eyes and 'I have to win this' moments.  All in all though great programme, first one I have watched in a long time all the way through and I will be cooking some of the stuff for sure. Loved it.

Sara also kept saying "cooking doesn't get tougher than this" and similar. I recall wondering if she was being paid to say it lol

Will watch properly later.

Randomly jumped to a bit to have a quick taste and got swearing from ramsey (really don't like him) and fat guy saying "Just the fact that you made your own curry and knew the different steps of toasting the spices then adding the onion...". Wow. America have high standards!
