Any advice please on what is wrong with my Sky - Wife has phoned them and they have said they will test the line and this will resolve the problem but kind off get the feeling this is a fob off
Basically my Internet Keeps dropping off, normally when I am doing well in a Torney and can sometimes take up to 30 minutes to log back in, bottom right hand of screen get the Yellow Triangle saying No Internet Access, Also takes an age to log in, have a fairly new desk top approx 12 months old. Also affects the TV as tried to log into Sky Poker onn my TV when I was booted out last night
Any ideas/suggestions?

External interference can cause 'noise' on your ADSL line which impacts on its abilty to remain connected. If it happens at the same time every night it could be an external source of noise e.g. central heating clocks, taxi office transmitters etc. etc.

If you log on to your router's admin pages there will be a Noise Margin figure reported somewhere. Monitor this figure and see if there is a marked drop when the connection problems start.

www.skyuser.co.uk is an independent forum which lots of great advice on how to monitor Sky routers etc.

I had a similar-ish problem, and changed the router channel and it's been fine since.

To change the channel you need to plug your computer into the router directly, go to http://192.168.0.1/ and then log in and go through the settings.  You'll probably be on channel 6.  Try changing to 11 and see if that helps.

Are you on wireless? He said desktop in the OP..

But it's a good point by Boshi. Is there an internet light on your router, and when you have the problem, do you see that light go out?
