Think you always have Putin beat.  No way he flats a full house on the river, he looks like he has KQ/QJ/QT
Meganon I think has 99 or 33, I guess he can have JT in his range here too but the turn mini raise pushes me more towards flopped set.  The worse/spewy he has been playing the more often he can show up with JT.  If Putin somehow doesnt have Qx then I think Meganon can have some sort of overplayed Qx but Im pretty convinced Putin has Qx.

So as played I guess I fold and sigh if Meganon shows JT but, as played, I think you have to call flop/call turn.  This situation stems from your lead though, especially in the early stages of this ongame tourney (Im assuming its the 6.30pm $54 6max 5k starting stack) leadouts, with so many potential loose cannons behind you, are gonna put you in awkward spots like this where they can actually be fairly wide but you're check/calling/hanging on till showdown.  This early in these games I just go for passive check/call flop check/decide(call or raise) turn and pot control the times they have some weird hand that beats you and let them value themselves with worse/bluff it off.

pretty sure it was that comp yes.

Thanks paul, I did fold and the guy who raised the flop had QJ and putin had 99, sicko Tongue

get what you mean about the lead, I think i figured in my head because people spazz around and raise stuff like Q5 and QJ OTF but people don't seem to bet much if they miss bet/call was a good play but think i was over complicating things a ton. chk/call ftw ur right.

spose I had c/c the flop then i turn trips do yo c/r or lead or c/c ?
Yeah I think even just a few levels later when you're 30-100bbs deep you can probably comfortably lead/get it in in these types of spots and get it in against worse a good amount of the time.

If I check/call flop Im checking every turn card.  Combo pot control/the hand is a little under-repped/we let them keep betting for value with worse or continue bluffing.  I actually think the Q on the turn makes your hand more awkward to play.  If turn is any card that isnt an ace/8/9 and we check and both players check behind then we have the best hand almost everytime and can comfortably lead most rivers and have a good chance of being called by worse and almost never raised.  With the Q on the turn if we check and they check back they can still have Qx/sets and just be checking back thinking their trapping and looking to bet river.  In this hand I think it would play pretty similarly to how it actually played if you c/c flop but with meganon leading the flop and Putin raising and then you and Mega calling and then same turn action. So id c/c flop c/c turn c/f river and c/c river if 1 guy bets and other folds or if 1st guy checks, last to act bets.

Im not sure if this makes sense Tongue  but Im on my way out so cant read it back/think about it right now

yup OTT I was like, fml its 500 into 1600 so flicked it in, then i was like ARGH FML now its 500 into 3100 ffs so called pretty safe in the knowledge i'd be folding the river all the time, which is pretty budget, but I had it in my head the flop raiser was spazzing around with some Q8 or whatever, sigh at me.

fold teh flop
1 guy is raising the flop with QJ over a lead and a flat from the utg raiser.  Folding the flop is absolutely out of the question imo.

huh seriously? we can def wait for better spots in this comp, its in my ngihtly schedule and continuing here would surely be a mistake vs two players who will def stack off pre whenever we want them too. the amount of aipf in the first 3 levels of this comp is ridic.
