Thought this was brilliant and deserved more love.
Made me think quite a bit and re-evaluate a lot of what I'm currently doing.
Thanks Tikay.
Thank you.
I'm still not sure what it was doing on a poker channel, but I'm quite pleased they did it.
Big relief this morning, when the channel viewing figures came through for that week - the viewing audience was well over double that for a regular Friday. Chirping? Yup, I guess so!
Seriously, I hope it gives encouragement to peeps to keep poker in context, & to treat setbacks as opportunities. A bad start in life does not mean a bad life has to follow, quite the opposite.
When I look back, almost the highlight was waking up one day, in my early thirties, realising I was penniless, homeless, carless, & jobless. Never had as much satisfaction from anything as climbing out of that hole, & doing so without borrowing a penny piece. True, I got lucky to get an opportunity to get back on my feet, thanks to Mr John Kirkland, OBE. Thanks John.
Nearly two decades later, I lost the lot again - gambling. Rinse repeat.
Now, the journey is nearly over, I can, as we used to say when we were kids, see the sea.
