Came home to find the laptop at the Win 7 login screen but the
Keyboard was not working or the mouse. Hmmmmm

Switched it off and turned it back on. I hear it trying to boot and then
It just stops and does nothing. 

Please help if possible.

Posting from my phone.

Ps have tried turning on and off several times.

Not sure if this is any help but occasionally my laptop will not reboot and will refuse to do so until I reboot it with the power cord disconnected.

Also, to switch it off completely, you might have to remove the power cord and remove the battery.  Then try switching it back on again.
