I think the difference between a traditional rebuy and a DTD re-entry is the number of chips you get. In a traditional re-entry, you only rebuy in lumps of about 20bb, and you can rebuy at any time, so it turns into a shovefest as described. Providing DTD don't let you reenter for too long, it plays much the same as any other freezeout- I don't think I've every seen anyone open jamming their 10k at the start of a Super50 in an attempt to double up or rebuy.
I think they let you reenter for too long in their recent £500- I understand this as they were trying to make their guarantee, but it seemed to play more like a rebuy, people were jamming hoping to get lucky or get back in, and the average didn't seem to move upwards for hours.
