Downloaded some photos from iPhone onto pc. Now trying to rotate then 90degrees and get the following error message.

"You cannot rotate this image. The file might be in use or open in another program, or the file or folder might be read-only."

So I've looked at the properties of the folder and it does indeed appear to be read-only. I uncheck the box and apply the change, then I get the same message. Go back to properties and its read only again???

Anyone else experienced this or can anyone help?

p.s. It doesn't do it for all photos but 2 photos taken within seconds of each other one rotates the other doesn't??

Tried a few things and still can't solve it - surely there must be some IT geek out there that can help me.

What program are you using on the pc to try and rotate them?  Have you tried saving it as a different file name and then reopening?   Irfanview is good for that (and are free) I use that for normal photo viewing too.

Just using the standard Windows Photo Gallery to rotate. It won't let me save as a different file name.

Can you make a copy?  File - Make a copy.

Not really sure.  Happy to have a go if you want to send me the file to look at, I bet Photoshop could do it.

Nope, won't let me do that either, but InfanView auto rotates them??
