I'm moving house next Saturday and the place I'm moving to isn't great for internet speeds. I can get 5.4 Mbps - 10.6 Mbps with Virgin with an average speed of 6.5 Mbps, bt is slightly slower. Will this be suffice for me to 24 table with alongside running tableninja and Holdem Manager ? Or is it possible this could cause problems ?
Thanks.

Online poker uses little bandwidth.
You may have to cut down to having just 2 or 3 Youporn videos running while you play though.

If Virgin are offering you speeds like that, it can't be a cabled area, and they'll be effectively reselling a BT line. It might be worth going around other providers. Best bet is to go here: http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_searchStick in your postcode, click on the exchange, and look down the LLU list. Have a shop around from the providers on the list. Probably worth checking with BT whether you can get Infinity or anything else quicker. Or just go with MrT's advice.

If you want dongle just as a back up then you want one that you pay for an amount of data e.g. 9GB and it is active for a period of time rather than one that you pay for monthly. I think 3 maybe the only supplier that do this kind of deal. Avoid Vodafone like the plague though.

A PAYG one with 3 is £100 for 12 months, I'd be better off just having a monthly one right ?

PAYG broadband sim is approx. £75 for 12GB data for 12 months. With the monthly deals the data expires after a shorter period of time if you dont use it..

Give the neighbour 4 tins of Fosters and ask them if you can have their WEP key to use in emergencies.
