I mean swearing is just a form of anger/frustration, I had a very
Good up bringing but we were working class and of course swearing is involved almost on a daily basis. I went to football with my old man from when I was 5 and of course he swore slat the linesman every week and growing up I stood up and called him. Fucking blind bastard too.

As long as you're not just always swearing for the sake of it I really don't think it's that bad once you are 18+ of course children swearing is different as parents are still responsible for them etc

My Dad says back when he was a kid if he was disrespectful he would get a clip round the ear. And his Dad would thank the guy for doing it. Wonder how much thanks I would get if next time I hear a child swear in Tesco I use a rolled up copy of The Times to slap the little blighter across the face?

The child might not, but the country* will.

*Well, maybe the Daily Mail

I swear all the time .....building trade and being in the army always gonna happen !

Swear in front of my mum ....never !

disgusting to hear Anyone doing this..... my kids do not swear .....at least not in front of me anyway !!

You have - naturally, given your line of work - hit the nail on the head: you control your language out of respect.

Some of my friends are tattooed, ex-football-firm lager lovers. They use the f word while they think of other words to say. It seems like it replaces inward breaths at times. A woman walks in and it is not uttered once. Should anyone mis-speak, they apologise or they are encouraged to do so by someone else!

Chivalry isn't dead but it does have a nasty cough.

Wonderfully explained!

Many find it quite impossible to make a point without resorting to profanities. Which immediately devalues their input.

It is totally on the head of the parents..... i grew up in a working class family and swearing was commonplace..my grandad was a true blue ex army lorry driver and the F word was as common as breathing but never in front of his wife... however i never swore in front of my mum until well in my twenties and even then was a bit ashamed...

I do not tolerate swearing from my children and i am 98 % good in front of them as I believe you lead by example..my eldest is in senior school and I know she does swear with her friends..peer pressure etc... but not in front of me....

My GF has a friend who is just awful...every other word in front of her 6,4 and 2 year old is a swear word with the C_ _ _ word common place, and she wonders why the 6 yold boy swears constantly and to put it mildly is a little bastard.... shes so bad i wont take my kids round there when i know she will be there...

But we live in a world where no one will take responsibility for their actions, always someone else to blame.... my kids are horrible with filth spouting from their mouths, cant be anything to do with me....

Swore in front of my dad, and very occasionally my mum, always very circumstantial though. Pretty much never swear in the home environment, at football with dad or some other situation like that. If i need to swear, when telling a story or something, asking my mums permission or saying pardon is mandatory :p
