The Blonde, the Thistle, and the Forum

I would just like to say a few words regarding CoolBlonde and the 1st World of Poker Stanley Thistle Classic, being held in the prestigious Stanley Berkeley Casino in Sauchiehall St, Glasgow, on the 15th and 16th July.
Firstly, as some of you will be aware, CoolBlonde (Jeanette McCrimmon) is MD of my sponsors World of Poker (worldofpoker.tv). And the Thistle Classic is to be the first of many events organized by World of Poker and hosted by Stanley casinos throughout Britain.
Jeanette, a former Computing and IT tutor at the University of Glasgow, has run several successful companies. But, although the success of these companies proves that she is a hard-headed businesswoman, it is my belief that a large part of her success is due to the fact that she is also warm and generous and cares for the people around her.
Jeanette came into online poker because she identified it as a rapidly expanding area. She has developed her own site, incorporating wholly independent poker software, owned and administered by World of Poker. She even decided to become a player so that she could understand poker from a players viewpoint. Ive watched her game develop over the last year or so and I can honestly say her progress has amazed me. As a result of this involvement as a player, she is determined that World of Poker will offer unrivalled customer service.
Stanley casinos asked her to put on a tournament at very short notice, and, because I had been telling her what a great forum this is, she asked me to put a post on advertising the comp. Now, because I know that, unlike any other forum, we dont just post our adverts willy nilly, I sent an email to tikay asking for permission to post. Jeanette, unaware of any such etiquette requirements, saw that I hadnt posted immediately and, having a deadline to meet, did it for me.
Jeanette, as you can imagine is incredibly busy at the moment, and, to make matters worse, she is in the midst of coping with a serious family illness. So it was a while before I could bring up the subject of forum etiquette. She is appalled at having committed this indiscretion and begs your forgiveness. I believe that once you get to know her, and she gets to know you, she will make a great addition to our family.
We will all be doing everything we can to make the Thistle Classic an event to remember and, now that we have a little more time, I understand that there will be both on and offline satellites. I will give you the info on these as soon as I receive it. I am very excited about this tourney and I hope that many of you will come and support us.

I hope you do get out to Vegas Tom, but if you dont you should try for Tunica in Januaryas ive heard thats better value all round.
I for one would rather go to that than any of the Vic's festivals, the exes in London are ridiculous if you dont get a result

Oh, well in that case I apologise for making a judgement about you based upon the way you talk
As you have probably guessed, writing isnt one of my premier skills (that small piece took me about 2 hours)
but it was my words and my sentiments, you are the last person I would want to fool
The sponsorship is going great, thanks, Im afraid it might be a dream that I'll wake up from, nothing is ever guaranteed, so I'll just do my best and enjoy it.

OK, it seems to be nettle grasping night for tikay, so I need to respond to this. Not easy!
Firstly, I have started a thread elsewhere about blonde Forum's spam policy.
Red-Dog has not violated it. Nor have Cool Blonde, or World of Poker. Not at all. Tom's apology on behalf of CoolBlonde is not necessary.
The facts as I know them are this.
Tom (Red-Dog) wrote me a PM one morning last week at about 0200. I don't keep records, but I reckon I replied to it within 20 minutes.
His PM asked if World of Poker, via Cool Blonde, could spam a tourney they were sponsoring. I said no prob. But I'd prefer that Tom spammed it himself. Why? Because on blonde, Tom is well known, well respected, trusted, & much liked. So it seemed to me that the World of Poker spam would be better received if it came from Tom. That's all I wanted. It to be well received.
Is there anything wrong with Cool Blonde - that's Jeanette? Nope, nothing at all. She may be a better man - well woman - than Tom for all I know, but I don't know her as well as I know Tom, & nor do the blondeites. So thats why I gave the advice I did.
So yes, I was a tad hacked off the next morning when I awoke to find a full "corporate speak" spam from Cool Blonde, rather than the "Red-Dog speak" type of spam I was expecting. Tom blathers, you know.
But I assumed straight away that this was a genuine misunderstanding. Tom ain't capable of tryng to mislead me, he just aint. He rubs along fine with me, and truth to tell, he's a huge hero of mine. His life has been touched by a scale of tragedy you could not begin to comprehend, but he's borne it with a degree of stoicism and bravery I find beyond belief. So he's OK.
And Jeanette, aka Cool Blonde. I don't really know her very well. But she's OK too, it was a misunderstanding, and although I was cross at the time, old people do get tetchy. I have no prob with Jeanette, we are hunky dory.
So Tom's suggestion that CoolBlonde"begs forgiveness for her indiscreton" is quite unnecessary. It was a misunderstanding Tom, and no apologies are necessary. If anyone violates the spam rule on blonde - which I have reiterated elsewhere tonight - I will deal with it as I see fit. Tom has NOT. Jeanette has NOT. World of Poker have not.
I wish Tom, Jeanette, & World of Poker every success with their proposed series of sponsored tournaments. blonde will support them as best we can.
I have had a message to call Jeanette, but I am in Norway, and phone calls across the North Sea are a bit expensive, so it will have to wait until I get home on Monday. I got the message on Thursday I think, but I have been a bit pulled out. When I speak with Jeanette, I will be wishing her every success with the World of Poker Sponsored Event(s), and offering blonde's support. And mine.
Now, can we get back to having fun? Jeez, running these Forums is harder than you'd ever imagine. Worth it though, well worth it.

Pah, you saw through and revealed my little ruse. There was Tom thinking he's off the hook.
The other one is the piper's son. And a sort of drum.
