I think its all about comfort level really. Having a real money poker app through facebook seems a lot more familiar than going to online poker sites with their sponsored pros and huge guarantee tournaments etc. Especially since none of the bigger sites have really thrown their weight behind primetime advertising yet.

Once people start getting their feet wet at small stakes, the 'trickle up' process begins and away we go.....eventually

+1

I started playing because betfair offered poker software.  It was an easier step to just play from there rather than starting on party.

So many people ask about poker in the real world.  It is easy to see how many could play if there was an easy way for them to do so.  I know people who have home games where they just play for a tenner and others who brag about winning at some free game online.  There must be a huge number of potential customers in the uk alone.

And zynga must have so many people who already #lovethegame.

Only downside i can see is it is facebook.

Interesting. Thanks.

I'm very much on the fence on this one so interested in people's opinions. I can see huge potential IF it's done the right way (instant play software, good banking, IM support etc etc). But simply adding a cashier to zynga poker in the UK would not IMO be the gold rush some expect.

I struggle to think that people who are wary of joining Stars or ladbrokes poker or whatever would suddenly be willing to whack their credit card details into facebook.

A lot of it depends on how facebook treat gambling too.

Really looking for an excuse to delete my FB account but stuff like this isn't helping.  Real money FB poker?  Too good to say no to, going to be too annoying to keep sane.

'Congratulations, you've won £1.42 with Two Pair, Jacks and Fours.  Do you want to post this on all your friends' walls and piss them off with your spam again?'

I am proud to say I don't have a Facebook account (far too much of a contrarian; not an anarchist, just a contrarian). This almost threatens to tempt me to consider getting an account.
