betfair ladies nite...

my girlfriend received this invite yesterday - has anyone heard of anything like this before?  what's it like?  she wants to know if its worth going to, and if anyone else on here is going... cheers!
 
'We would like to invite you to a ladies evening at Betfair on Wednesday, 25th January. We have a great evening planned. As a valued Betfair customer we are interested in your opinions and we will be holding some discussion groups, focused on the increasing popularity of gambling, both poker and sports betting generally, amongst women.

This will only form part of the evening. Dinner and drinks will be provided, and there will be the opportunity to bet on a live football match and also a Celebrity Big Brother eviction programme! As a thank you for your time we will pay £50 into your Betfair account!

yeah i guess when you put it like that it sounds good - just wanted to make sure it's not one of these heavy sell nites when they try to sign you up to allsorts.  also she didn't want to go alone and wondered if any of the women from here are going...

I had an invite to this .. it's a focus group fromt he sounds of it.. they are paying us for our opinions on their servives, and certain aspects of their offering to certain demographics, in this case women.

I'm going, I sent my rsvp the other week, but haven't heard anything back. It's just down the road from my work, so silly not to go really.

excellent thx Heid, that's what she was hoping for.  not sure how many people go to these things, but look out for a girl of 21 with str8 brown hair, and she kinda looks like a cross between victoria beckham and a munchkin (but don't tell her i said that if you do meet her!!!).  her name's sheridan.

I am sure they will do other events in other parts of the country.

I am just lucky that I am just down the road from their offices apparently.

My company does stuff like this all the time...don't think they offer dinner and drinks though....and 50 quid is quite good.
