Bit of a derail - but do u do John Dory in your chippies Frankie??  I'm from a fishing town originally with lots of award winning chippies..they don't seem to do that fish down south..but I do get up to Nottingham a fair bit

It's pretty expensive in comparison to haddock/hake etc it's not always available either and I have a rule where anything on the menu board should be available 100% of the time. It would be a pretty fiddly process to batter it as well lol, a few years back we had the genius idea of lightly battered lemon sole, which did not work lol Tongue

Haddock n cod is what we fry beside chicken and doner kebabs . Others fish r not on our menus due to not easy and not popular in Mansfield . Fish & chips shop comp start July the 15th in Mansfield for 6 weeks. It's run by 103.2 Mansfield Radio . Hope I can win that n brag that I am the best chippy in Mansfield !  Needed all the votes from my friends n customer . This is like winning a poker comp to me . One time

you still doing Cod frankie? I've found it way too expensive last few years. Hake's been the best value, tastes pretty much as good as haddock imo, tried Pollack and pouting but pollack goes a bit darker when it's fried which doesn't look as nice and more distinguishable taste and Pouting I thought was good but its just so hard to get 6/8oz fillets out of them, would be perfect I think if we did more trade on kids/OAP portions.

Send me the link, i'l vote! Whos running it?

I thought we had this discussion before, I used to work for a company that bought/sold them, and have owned 6 myself personally but sold the last one in Jan so no shops right now, I don't keep for long though I'm in it to flip em mostly.

You use 8/16's for your reg F&C? Sick stuff that's a proper chippy right there thumbs up
