Hi all,

I travel to Vegas on August 11th with 9 friends and we will obvs all need $$. I've read in the past about people coming back from the US swapping $ for £ so to achieve a better rate than going through other means?

With the WSOP near its end and players heading home I thought there may be a chance of helping myself, friends and returning players out.

Never done this before but if anyone's interested please let me know so something can be worked out. I'm based in Manchester and would think we'd be looking at around $12-$15k.

On what terms/rates is this kind of transaction done?

Apologies if this comes across as an absolute amateur post.........it is.

I will have $15,000 for you to swap with based on the XE rates online. Can you get to Sheffield?

It's a good time to be buying as hopefully people will have come home from the series with a lot of $ they wanna shift, so it'll be a mutually beneficial deal so should just do it at spot rate (the rate you get on xe.com). This will save both parties getting screwed by the high street.

You'd wanna meet someone who lives near you or you could meet up with easily, otherwise spending too much on transport costs could defeat the object of beating the high streets.

Thanks for the info and offer.

I'll be seeing my mates I'm travelling with this weekend and will put the offer to them and get back to you.

Like Alex says the saving will have to justify the travel but if there's enough interest we could have a deal.

Failing that I'll try David Vamplew...ohhhh no I ditnt!! Jokes

Thanks again

Spoke with my mates. We've decided that the amount gained by exchanging this way is probably more hassle than its worth. I think Alex alluded to the fact that after time and travel costs it barely seems worth it.

Thanks for responding tho and congrats on bringing home $$!
