Too nitty????

Playing the £25 evening tourney at DTD Saturday night when this occured in the 3rd/4th level. Villian open jams UTG for about 40bb's. They had limp called AJ(along with all their other hands) from this pos earlier on and I think was only the 3rd time they'd raised. It's folded to me with approx 100BB's with 4 others to act behind. I look down at 9 9 and after a think I folded. My thinking was this-
If I call I'm not gonna like being reraised all-in.
If I reraise all-in, I'm not gonna like a call.
It really confused me as I've not seen a play like this live and couldn't work out what's best and decided that as I was confused, folding was probably best.
Any thoughts on what I should do if I find myself in a similar position again?

Got to join the Alex Martin fist pump club on this one.
It's a 20 minute clock so the blinds are going up more than once per orbit.
No way you can pass up an opportunity like this in a hyper turbo shove fest.

So whilst considering whether my nipples should be slippery or having a long hard screw against
the wall, should I just be calling or shipping, Alex and Pie???

Slightly understated but yeah this. In my opinion of course.
