Hi Folks,
Can anyone supply any info on live games in Madrid? I will be travelling in and out for a while and would like to find a game.
Cheers! Hendo.

No info but be prepared for slow rolls. My tactic is turn your cards over. Close your eyes for at least a minute and then see if you have chips in front of you when you open them. WHATEVER YOU DO do not look at your opponent for information after your cards are on your back. He will still shrug, tap the table as if to say nice hand. And then show you you came second!

I love how they play the game, but the slowrolling is hard work!

Loads of action at Casino Gran Madrid, just outside the city centre.

Played a good game at a tiny casino hidden away in the centre. Its directly opposite the football stadium.

Was 1 table of 1/2 mainly played 6 handed. But with a twist.

Its an electronic game, so you sit at your pod to view your cards you have to cover the screen with hands and they peel up. 1 poker supervisor sorts buy ins and speaks English

Game was ridic soft. Limp fest. Almost 0% fold to 3 bets or any value bets. Even had someone pay a overbet jam on the river off with a pair of 2's.

The electronic part takes away any communication issues.

Thanks for the info guys. Will have a look at the Casino Gran Madrid.

Funnily enough one of my responsibilities is working on the PokerStars LIVE at Casino Gran Madrid partnership.

They have a tournament schedule Thursday - Sunday and Cash Games run daily at a pretty wide range of stakes.

Worth noting that Casino Gran Madrid recently opened a city centre casino but there is NO poker available here currently AFAIK. There is only poker at the much larger casino in Torrelodones (where the EPT Grand final was held a few years back).

Hope this helps.

When i went there a few years back for a tournament the "local" cash games all ran anti-clockwise which took a bit of getting used to!
