19 changes to the teams in the early game today might aswell call it the reserve cup

ECL spot will likely get more teams going for it but not alot

This is very good news for the competition. A lot fewer giant killings to be expected as a result you'd imagine.

By making it a mere qualifier for another competition doesnt devalue it at all....

Like it. Can't do it this year obviously. If the winner has already qualified through the league, should go back to 4th, don't give it to the fa cup runner up.

An utter nonsense and it will never happen. The Premier League wields too much power and, moreover, we might not have a fourth place soon.

I'm with Tal on this - an utter nonsense.

All hypothetical in any case because UEFA CL qualifying rules don't permit it.

I like it, that the 4th best team in the year can appear in a Champions league is a joke.  A league of champions - it really shouldn't be more than the champions in it, second place is pushing it.

If we rename it the European Cup are they allowed back in?

Hate the idea tbh, its a waste of everyones time to have a bunch of no hopers knocked out in the qualifiers, especially as we need teams to go deep to keep the 4th place.

Indeed we need Arsenal and Man City to keep shooting the lights out in the competition as they have in the last few years.

The weighting for points in the Euro league seems totally skewed IMO and puts England at risk from Italy.

Juventus obviously did well in the CL but both Napoli and Fiorentina also  scored more coefficient points than City, Arsenal and Chelsea despite these 3 making it to the last 16 of the CL. Napoli didn't get through the CL qualifying stage and Fiorentina weren't even in the Champions League but both did well in the EL.
