I was in my local newsagents the other day (Newshound, Great North Road, Gosforth) and got chatting to the proprietor Mr Khan. He was having a moan about the number of people who order part-works (the magazines that are offered on the TV that form some form of collection) and then don't collect them. The thing about part-works is after the first couple of editions the newsagents cannot return them to the wholesaler if they are not collected. He was left with literally hundreds of quids worth. Within minutes a deal was done that saw him donate all the ones with DVDs (CSI, Star Trek, Frost, Morse, Stargate) to Game for Life for distribution to Children's Hospital wards. Today we sorted out 54 DVDs that will be distributed from Monday. A gesture like this can make a sick child, especially a teenager (often referred to as the forgotted group) happy for a few hours. So thank you Jav Khan!

ALL credit to Mr Khan, I am just doing my job. The reason for posting was to highlight the many different ways we can all help to put a smile on someone elses face and to give some credit where its due.
