I think it's a shockingly bad decision, the good old FA have bowed to media pressure.
Why McClaren? i can't think of a single reason, he won the league cup 2 years ago and , err, erm, err......sod all else.
How much experience has he had as a manager?
His borough team are terrible, so much so that we (blues) played them away a few weeks back and murdered them on everything but goals (if only we had a goalscorer sigh).
They should have gone for experience and a proven track record regardless of nationality.

He has been a coach for the English national team for 5 years.

Yeah, and?
All that means is he knows the players.

Sometimes you have to suffer a little bit in your youth to motivate yourself to succeed in later life.
Do you think if Bill Gates got laid in high school, do you think there'd be a Microsoft?
Of course not.

I really do hope so, i just think that if there were a list of preferred choices he would be midway down at least.

Well, evey club/country would want Wenger, Benitez, Hiddink, Mourinho, etc...

Scolari was never offered the job.

If we were to go for an English Manager he was the only choice. Based on his development within the England set up, his success at Borough and not forgetting his experience at Man Utd.
Trouble is that whenever there is a big job in the premiership it goes to a foreigner. The top six clubs in the table at the moment are all managed by foreigners and until this changes we are going to struggle to have any good candidates in the future. Having said that I wish a few of them would get off their backsides and go abroad to gain experience.
