Hewston really does have a problem now, he's almost down to the felt.

Hewston raises preflop, Read makes a deep reach, Hewston folds reluctantly showing an Ace. Read reveals pocket tens.

John had just about enough chips to make the fold.

What was the hold up over dinner, didn't they know there were people coming?  Cheesy

Lol, that's what I said.

No idea what the problem was, but, either way, it was dinner break and the players could seem to get any dinner.

Soxy raises from the button with pocket eights, Mark Emberson moves over the top from the big blind with tens, Chris folds (very reluctantly).

Soxy is now down to just 16k and found it excruciatingly difficult to release the hand with so few chips.

I reckon Foxy would have shoved those chips in quicker than a tikay exit.

And John Hewston becomes our 9th place finisher.

His all-in preflop steal with J-8 ran into the pocket cowboys (yeeeeeeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaa) of Steve Read.

King on the flop, and that's all she wrote.

Rumour has it that a deal has been struck with 7th and 8th receiving 1k each off the top.

If my maths is correct, 1st prize is therefore 25k.

And that was a classic Bubble Time pic...

Just wanted to say great job!   Thanks to both of you guys for working your socks off while I lounged around being birthdayed (in advance).  It sounds like a most unusual type of event...

Cheers!

And it's Chris 'Soxy' Sokrati who takes that bubble spot.

He was very short anyhow, but made his move with A-3.

Mark Emberson called from the bib blind with A-K.

No help arrived.
