I remember it like it was yesterday. 1979 or so. Match of the Day, Jimmy Hill. Its New Years day or so and its cold enough to freeze most games off, but this club had a tent over its ground...before undersoil heating of course.

The club is playing at home to Norwich and this midfielder scores the winner having played the whole match in his wife's white tights.

The MOTD credits had this player in slow motion to the music from the ballet Swan Lake

I was 12, this player was a hero of mine

He sadly died last year of cancer

I expect most of you are too young to remember classic MOTDs from the 1970s.....

Speaking of which. Remember that MoTD series with Dennis Waterman that covered 1970's football.
It had one hour programme for each of the seasons in the decade. It was class. Highlight was always
Davis Coleman shouting 'One- Nil'.
Can this be bought on DVD? Anyone know?

the very talented Keith Weller

Next question?

Who is the only player from 1980 onwards to have captained league sides in Scotland, Wales (but playing in English Leagues ie not TNS etc etc)), England, N ireland and his country.

so for example.....Hearts, Cardiff, Tottenham, Glentoran and Jamaica.

This is a good one

It most certainly isn't

I can give clues.

The first clues are you are looking for a big SPL team, lower league Welsh team, yo-yoing English team. When he played they were top division....and they are now. Well known N Irish team.

Many many caps for his country

Now retired

Rough playing career 1980s to mid 1990s
