Has anybody mentioned Gergory's Girl, truly naff but feel good. Well Clare Grogan made me feel good  Kiss

Can't believe no-one from Scotland has mentioned Restless Natives - 2 Scots geeks robbing tourist buses in a wee 125cc motorbike with stuff knocked from a joke shop.

Best Soundtrack EVER as well

I was one of the nutters who campaigned to get it released on DVD (a French Company had the rights to it).  It's now available.
gotta admit

great film

'come back here ya fannnnyyy'

terrible non-admission

i even seen it twice at the pics...

What about Bill Forsyths first (& best) film That Sinking Feeling, absolutely hilarious.

Rod if you haven't watched this I urge you to, if you have shame on you for forgetting it

A few more:

Trading Places
Inner Space
The Outsiders (my fave film, not sure how it scores on the 'feelgood' scale though)

I've never even heard of it - but will look out for it now - (still won't beat Restless Natves - the soundtrack gives RN too big a lead).

I enjoyed very much the cinematography in the 80's classic the Maltese falcon

wow v cool thread.

lost boys and ferris bueler's day off sprung to mind but both have been mentioned so I'll go for herbie goes bananas.

By the way in Deerhunter I think Walken puts de niro in the shade which is some achievement.

Deer Hunter is absolute quality and not to be underestimated. The mighty Walken has had some rare moments in his career, this was certainly one of them. The film itself is utterly unbelieveable of course, but so well acted and stylised that I pretty much don't care that the story makes no sense...

Do you know must be pissed off. Jill Murphy.

She wrote a heap of books in the 80s about an all girls Witch school. The Worst Witch.

Then that JK Rowling lady comes along and makes billions upon billions ripping it off.

I have been saying this for years!

Worst Witch was brilliant, all Rowling did was make it co-ed....

I was going to say Flight of the Navigator too but couldn't remember what it was called!

There was another similiar film to called Explorers I think.

And lets not forget Stand by Me
