Jane, do you already have an lcd monitor. How big is it. it may be cheaper to get a 17" and buy a graphics card that allow you to link the two i.e. a makeshift multi screen display.

Yes, I already have a 17" LCD and both that and the graphics card (NIVDIA GeForce FX 5200) are around 18 months old. It unfortunately doesn't support a 1600 x 1200 res  Sad

You can pick up another 17" monitor for less than 120 quid (i.e. mid range-ish) and i'm looking at the graphics cards. At the mo i've got one that links up to both my tv and monitor. You can either clone the screen (i.e. same thing on both screens) or use it in a mulitscreen format.

I know you can pick up graphics cards with both the tv out and the monitor out for 20 quid but i'm not sure they would support two hi res monitors (a tv is only 640x480).

Ok, this is about what you want but it is 75 quid and more than i would have expected to pay (it's probably too good for what you want).

If look in the images you get a close up of the back and you can see there are two female ports (and an s-video one). By the side of these ports you can see it says DVI (i.e. digital). On some cards you will have one DVI port and one CRT port (i.e. one analogue and one digital) this isn't what you want unless you are rigging it up to your tv.

So for 200 quid you can another monitor but have a look around and see if you can find a cheaper graphics card.

Thanks SupaMonkey, I'll have to have a think about which way I want to go, dual monitor or an upgrade.

Actually I agree with you, without investing in the monitor whether it be upgrading or going dual, it limits the earning potential. I'm missing too much information to effectively multi-table at present.

we buy all of our TFT monitors from www.savastore.com. I usually buy 17" TFT monitors for under £100. You may be able to pick up a decent size monitor for less than £200

Possibly a 'step back' technology-wise, but if you actually want bargain basement 1600x1200, I bought myself a 19" CRT monitor for £10 on ebay; also bought Jen a 21" for £20.  Both do 1600x1200 and are in excellent condition. The only thing is, they are very heavy and you do need a deep desk.

Thanks MrsLime, I did think about making do with with James' old monitor (like as you described above) Although my desk is deep enough it is however glass! Can just imagine the "D'oh" moment, as it would go crashing through to the floor lol.

I think I will go with the one that Sheriff posted the link to, I missed this auction but there is bound to be some more coming again soon.

There was 5 left available when the auction ended, at 1:28 am lol. If I had realised there was such a short amount of time left I would have snapped one up, hopefully he will get them re-listed soon.

EDIT: Just checked and he re-listed this morning  Cheesy
