Best hand held up

Soon after Dull doubles up from the big blind

Double Takedown News Now -

John Dull moved in preflop for 101,000.  Bjorn-Erik Glenne decided to give him a spin, and as a surprise, Robin Keston moved in too from the small blind (for less in total).

John showed:
B.E. showed:
Robin showed:

The board came 3 J 4 6 4 (Big TK doesn't like to announce the suits for some reason) and that means that:

Robin Keston is the 8th place finisher, for €69,100

AND

John Dull is the 7th place finisher, for €92,200

Just prior to this hand, Bjorn Erik doubled up Joakim Geigert in the following fashion:

Joakim raised to 45k preflop, and BE called from the big blind.  The flop:  two hearts  BE bet out 70k, and Joakim raised all-in (for c.150k) - only a little think from BE before calling with his up'n'down - Q 9 - while Joakim's AJ ended up holding up for a much needed double.

Jeff Lisandro is OUT and becomes the 6th place finisher winning 115,200

Ivey raised from the button, Lisandro called from the Big Blind and they both saw a T-9-5 flop.

Lisandro checked, Ivey bet, Lisandro moved all-in and Ivey called.

Ivey = 9-9, Lisandro = T-9

Turn = 4

River = 4

Joakim Geigert is OUT in 5th place, winning €138,200

Bjorn-Erik raised to 55k preflop, Joakim re-raised to 155,000 - call.
Flop:  5 9 4 (two hearts)  Check from BE, All-in from Joakim - call.
BE showed:  K 9
Joakim showed:  A 3
With the turn and river bringing the inconsequential Q 4, we are down to just four... It's moving rather quickly.

It does indeed look like this is the DINNER BREAK - - - prepare for a quiet hour while we run off and grab a bite, we'll be back when they are...

Pretty chunky pot between Glenne and Ivey.

Glenne calls from the button, Gregory makes up the small blind and Ivey checks.

All three players check the A-4-6

T = 3

Glenne bets 70k, Gregory passes and Ivey makes it 210k, Glenne calls.

River = 5

Ivey bets 300k, Glenne calls.

Glenne = A-3

Ivey = T-9

Glenne wins the pot.

Well that's the first major confrontation I've seen Ivey come out behind on - he didn't look pleased about being called on the river and having to show his Ten-high...

Anyway, he's lost a couple more pots now, both to Dave Gregory - in the first one Phil called on the button, and then called Dave's big blind raise of 50k.  They checked all the way to the end:  two hearts and Dave's Ace high was good.

The next hand, Dave takes Phil's big blind from the small blind with a preflop raise.

The next hand, Dave raises to 75k on the button, again Phil calls (sb).
Flop:    Check-check.
Turn:    Phil bets out 120,000.  Call from Gregory.
River:     Phil gives up, checking, and gets a check behind.  They both have Ace high, but Dave's A 10 beats Phil's A 7...

Gregory limps on the button

Ivey makes up the small blind

Glenne raises from the big blind

Gregory folds

Ivey calls

Flop = 2-3-K

Ivey checks

Glenne bets 150,000

Ivey makes it 350,000

Glenne moves all-in

Ivey folds

Gregory raised preflop, Ivey folded from the small blind and Glenne called from the Big.

Glenne then check-raises Gregory all-in on an A-K-Q flop and shows Pocket Aces.

After Phil took a hammering that level, the chips are a most uneven:

555,000 Dave Gregory
386,000 Phil Ivey
BE Glenne  3,900,000

Just as I was returning with some tussling-type hands, there was a big cheer.  That can mean only one thing - - we're heads up!

Dave Gregory finishes in 3rd place, winning €184,300

Bjorn raises to 120k on the button, while Dave moves in from the small blind with K 10.
Bjorn Erik shows:  A 5

Flop:  5 K 7
Turn: 5
The river was inconsequential.

This final has been anything but slow and boring, a treat to update.
