"Last blonde Standing"

A Heads Up competition to take us through the next month and to fill the gap between Leagues.

This is how it will work:

Registration will be available under the heading "blonde Heads Up registration" on the BPL cardroom under the MTT/NL Tournaments tab

This registration will cost $10+1 and will be available until next Thursday only.

After next Thursday I together with a glamorous assistant (applications required) will conduct a random draw to discover who plays who and the draw in its entirety will be posted on blonde next Thursday afternoon

The draw will be set such that (Wimbledon style) you know your path through to the final from the start...winner of match 1 will play winner of match 2 etc/winner plays victor of matches 3 and 4 etc. There will be no seedings.

Once the draw is announced the two players discuss (PM,MSN) a mutually suitable date and time to play their match, agree stakes (as low as 10c) and format (one off, best of 3 etc). The idea is to resemble something like a 5 a side league or a squash league you might see at your local leisure centre in terms of organisation.

Each round will have to be completed by a set date which I will announce when the draw is posted.

Here's the complication: Heads up tables cannot be reserved on Tribecca so there is always a risk that someone turns up to a table at the time agreed and another player jumps in. I therefore recommend that games are played for small stakes to minimise financial disappointment.

Once the game has been played, within a deadline for each round to be announced, players report results to me.

Prizes:

BPL has very kindly added $250 to the prize pool. This will be distributed as follows

1st: $65
2nd: $35
3rd and 4th: $25 each

In addition the winner will play for a "winner takes all" $100 in a best of 3 heads up match on BPL versus a mystery celebrity after the conclusion of the tournament.

Out of the total of the $10 paid to register for the comp to get in the draw the distribution of prizes will be as follows

1st: 40% of pool
2nd: 20% of pool
3rd-4th: 10% of pool each
5th-8th: 5% of pool each

So you have three sets of money available to win: the $10 pool accumulated, the $250 added money and the stakes of the individual matches.

I will facilitate the playing of games where required (just ask me to chase your opponent for you ) and anyone who is not around on the date and time agreed by all parties will forfeit (with one final warning only) and the opponent get a bye to the next round

Happy to answer any questions, take feedback/suggestions and I hope this is an idea that interests plenty of you.

The winner will be crowned the "Last blonde standing" and the BPL Heads Up champion, with massive bragging rights, until next time round.

i think its a great idea, the only slight thing i might change is you said players can decide to have a one off or best of 3. i think everybody should have to play the same so either everyone plays a one off or a best of 3. that way everyone is playing on a level playing field.

like i said though great idea and im looking forward to it

This is fantastic - I'm already looking forward to donking off my stack with an ill-timed bluff.

this can be easily done if the general view would like it

The key is though that each game is played to a format and buy in that both players are completely comfortable with.

What about a poll, to establish the general view?

I wanna play The Camel, 10c normals, best out of 999. How much of a poker education would that be for less than $100.

I assume you would have to flip a coin for this and tell the competitors your result. I can't think of another fair way that you could decide this.

I'm bribable.

one person wants to play normals, the other wants to play turbos. We could agree on game 1 being normal, game 2 turbo and flip a coin for the decider

that, yes, is what I have in mind
