Half the team is inexperienced  (Flintoff's 1st Ashes+ 3 others) but over the whole series Ian Bell has simply been out of his dept.

Pietersen just bowled by McGrath but he's played a blinder - probably won England the Ashes. From a neutral point of view, though, the Aussie openers have been utter mince. Top three batsmen in series: Pietersen, Trescothick and Flintoff. Wouldn't have bet that before the first test.
