I used to have a warehouse opposite one of the Richardson's scrap yards in SE London. They paid me a welcoming visit when I first arrived, probably to check me out, but they also assured me that trouble & break ins NEVER occured in that area; & if I ever needed anything just to pop over & have a word. I never did see any trouble  Wink

Nah, I grew up near King's Cross.

My Great Uncle use to work for the Krays - he use to be one of their best earners. Until they stabbed him twelve times in the chest and dumped him outside Whitechapel Hospital after an argument over 'pay'.

The Krays manor was north of the river, the Richardsons had the Sarf.

Charlie Richardson was arrested in 1966 and was sentenced to 25 years in what were to become known as "The torture trials". After his release, 18 years later, he became a successful businessman.

He said the world of "legitimate" business was far more bent than anything he had been previously involved in.

My Uncle use to work for the Richardsons. I think his role was something like an enforcer, what that means 

The Richardson Gang was a 1960s group of criminals in South London, England. Less well remembered than their rivals the Krays, they nevertheless had a reputation in their heyday as being some of London's most infamous and sadistic gangsters. Also known as the 'Torture Gang', their "speciality" was pinning victims to the floor with 6 inch nails and removing the victims' toes with bolt cutters.

Harry Roberts.

Killed three policeman in 1966, in shepards bush, after a blag went wrong.

He is still in prison today, 40 years after getting life.
