Congrats Bazza. Just seen the game report. My wickie wants shooting, 49 off 121 balls! a TFL of low prob didn't help either. Get u next time!

TY. Must say I quite enjoyed watching him blocking lol.  I was gutted when I got him out Cheesy.  Match was pretty evenly poised throughout though, him spending 121 balls at the crease probably made the difference.

I've taken on the KingJon challenge

I guess I'll find out what an opener with an average of 180+ in league VI can do against league IV bowlers

T'briggites are oop for the challenge

Time to start thinking about the cup again...

What format would people like?

I liked the group/league format - made sure everyone had a good amount of games and people got to play each other.

Any opinions of group sizes or maybe having a quarter final aswell?

Play each team in group once or twice?

League + knockout is always a good idea...

One possibility (assuming we still have 12 entries) is two random groups of 6. Each team plays each other once (5 games each). The top 3 of each league goes into a new league, the bottom 3 from each into another (so there's a "stronger" and "weaker" leagues). Each play the team in your new league once (5 games each). The top 4 go through to a semi, then a final, so there is a "weaker" knockout semi/final and a "stronger" knockout semi/final. Just means the newer players get the chance to win some games! This way, every team gets to play between 10 and 12 matches - just to fit into next season...

Might be a bit complicated, so perhaps not the best format, but just a suggestion.

i think we might get 16 teams before the start of the cup if we do then we can get 4 groups of 4
the 2nd round could be league again with top 4 from round 1 playing each other
the runners up in round 1 playing eeach other 3rd place teams and 4th places teams all playing each other

then a seeded knockout finish ie winner of group 1 plays last team in group 4 making  total of 10 weeks this should allow for us all to play 1 or 2 rounds in cup (3 in jons case) and give us all 7-10 cup matches with every game something to play for ( a better draw in the knockout stages) during knockout stages we can all play for finishing places so that everyweek for the 10 weeks everyone gets a game

If we can get 16 teams we should go for the world cup formats - 17 weeks of meaningless games prior to announcing Jon, the undisputed strongest team, as the winner.

If we can cock up the ending of the final too then it'll be a bonus.

Leagues all updated today and it seems the link I posted was right, as I'm in the division it predicted.

Quite happy as I'm one of the better teams and there aren't any that are likely to hand out a big cricketing lesson!

And with it comes confirmation that I'm a dead man this season.

Apart from 2 other promoted teams (both who look to be stronger than mine) the other teams in the league consist of 6+ players in the 10-50,000 range in BTRating.  My highest player is just under 8000.

It'll be like the BT20 all over again!
