Yeah, it's because division 6 in England is the exception to the rule; because there should be 4 times as many of them to fit the pyramid scheme.

Ive played two, won two but next week i play the top team.
he seems to have much better players than me so i was thinking of a TIE and let him win and give my team a rest, as I used a GFI today against the team which i thought was a competiror for second place.
Any advice ?

Sounds like a good plan to me, he has a very good team for div 6, I would rate your chances of winning as very low - His 2 star bowlers will take wickets and his star bat will score runs, nothing much you can do to stop that.

today's result

oppo  274-6
me 203 AO in 41st over.

for 1st game I'm fairly happy

had a bowler take 3-38, my 1st centurion carry his bat for 126 no from 103 deliveries, 1 other scoring 48, however the remainder of my batting lineup requires a rethink. 1player 0 from 27 balls ( coming in at no 6!)

use my friendly coming up to tinker

well i took another beating today... my league's so hard this season compared to last, and I think I'll have to dip into the bank balance to avoid relegation! I doubt I'll win this week's cup match - had a very bad start to the season Sad

Yeah, I noticed he had strong spin bowling (from 3 spinners) and plays on a dusty pitch. Tough game!

Right new plan for the cup to try and fit everyone in:

2 groups of 10 play each team once then either:

top 4 in each through to quarter final, bottom 6 through to trophy (with a bye for teams who finished higher).
top 6 in each group through to knockout stages with a bye for teams who finished higher, bottom 4 through to trophy.

Unless anyone has any better ideas?

  Jordan Frikkie - 17 yo, BT Rating=2,331
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, respectable batting form, respectable bowling form, fresh
A destructive player with woeful leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina:    abysmal    Wicket Keeping:    worthless
Batting:    feeble            Concentration:      feeble
Bowling:    mediocre    Consistency:          feeble

I decided last week that I'm not spending any more money on the academy.

In fact if anyone spots me near the cookie jar before the end of the season then give me a slap.

I've spent all my spare cash on my stadium and players, the returns are far more predictable.

If you get lucky with the academy then you are quids in - but it's very high variance!
