And the sledging begins......

2.1    .   Sabata to Lungile
Nothing special about the delivery, but the keeper looked to have said something to Lungile that unsettled him. Thabiso is winning the battle here.

Not a very exciting game at the minute, is it?

Was I supposed to be playing someone? Sorry, I've been busy this week and my internet connection has been very dodgy....

I hastily arranged a friendly with a new team yesterday after no-one had challenged me.

I'm giving my reserves a run out, they scored 274 and have the oppo at 68-3 after 15 overs.

Not a very exciting game at the minute, is it?

Don't know what you mean.  Surely dot balls are the future of cricket!

20.3    .   Jennings to Mclean
Fullish, straight ball, a little uncertainly drawn forward in defence, taken on the front pad and the ball balloons up in close on the off side.
20.2    .   Jennings to Mclean
Floated up full outside off stump, swings across the line at it, chopping an inside edge into the ground, rolls up towards mid on.
20.1    .   Jennings to Mclean
Great stop by the cover fielder, no run taken.

End of Over 20: 98-0, runrate=4.90, reqrunrate=6.23 (284-8)
Wheeler   5-1-20-0
Mclean*   60 (42 balls)
Lungile   35 (79 balls)
19.6    .   Wheeler to Lungile
Great stop! Saved a certain four!
19.5    .   Wheeler to Lungile
Fielding! Shortish ball outside off stump, the batsman plays a cut shot into the deck, the ball bounces up high and backward point does rather well to leap up and grab it one-handed above his head.
19.4    .   Wheeler to Lungile
Lungile played for the stock delivery, but it went the other way. Lungile didn't read Wheeler's action at all there.
19.3    .   Wheeler to Lungile
Squared up the batsman, managed to push it back down the ground.
19.2    .   Wheeler to Lungile
        Leaves well alone.
19.1    .   Wheeler to Lungile
Wheeler cuts off his appeal early as he dashes up the wicket to prevent the leg bye. Not out by the way.

I'm planning to fine Mclean for putting Lungile back on strike so quickly.

26.2    1   Jennings to Mclean
Gently worked around to deep backward square for an easy single.
26.1    .   Jennings to Mclean
Shortish ball outside off stump. The batsman cuts hard at it but only succeeds in getting a bottom edge.

End of Over 26: 116-0, runrate=4.46, reqrunrate=7.04 (284-8)
Mullins   8-1-45-0
Mclean*   64 (56 balls)
Lungile   44 (101 balls)
25.6    .   Mullins to Lungile
That's outside off-stump, Lungile left it, and he looks a bit disappointed that it's not been called a wide.
25.5    .   Mullins to Lungile
Good ball! Shortish ball angling in. He plays down on it late in defence as it comes back a long way.
25.4    .   Mullins to Lungile
Look at that! He's giving the batsman the stare! He is some character, Mullins.
25.3    .   Mullins to Lungile
Shortish ball on off stump. He stands tall on the crease and forces it down to point in defence.
25.2    .   Mullins to Lungile
Tight shortish ball on off stump, forward, solidly defending down into the covers.
25.1    .   Mullins to Lungile
Fullish ball just outside off stump, well forward, deflects it away to backward point in defence.

Says it all really............

27.6    .   Mullins to Lungile
Solid defence from Lungile as he has one eye on the run rate. Maybe he should have two eyes on it?
