Final  table starts at  3pm. Tikay and Reddog still in - dont have a chip count - sorry - I went out near the bubble at 4 am so didnt care what anyone else had! ;-)
Poker poka John still in, Kevin O'leary (sponsored by L'Oreal)  has a good stack, plus my boyfriend (sponsored by Grecian 2000) - I'm on a % so  I'm encouraging him all I can!! :-) Met Mrs reddog - and having met reddog all I can say is that she must be  a saint - and a  lovely woman too!

Elblondie went out fairly early - deck was cold i think - but Mrs C looked fab so he must still be a happy man ;-)

One drunk player thught it would be good fun to knock kevin O'learys card protector (gromit) off his massive stack on regular basis but o'leary has kept his cool and his new hair colour to play another day.

13 left - casino decided to pay all. £300 for the first few out.

Great picture that will be posted on the forum of reddog with tissues in his ears after the casino started their fiday night entertainment - a psuedo drifter wearing a brown leather outfit similar to your grans old leather sofa!!  The music (sorry the noise!)  was deafening - no one could hear the game and we were shouting to make raises.....offered Tikay £50 for his ipod but he wanted more! The entertainment area is just around the corner from the card room and it was a bizarre sight during one of the breaks to walk round to the loo and be confronted with essex women crowding the dancefloor, all singing along to drifters songs, looking for a snog, but not dancing round their handbags - just all holding them....must have heard there were poker players in the building, they didn't want to put their bags down.......it was like playing poker in a disco - very strange....

Nice atmosphere despite the music thing -  at one point my table were all swaying in time to the music although I suspect one of them was  swaying more than the others just to get a look down the dealers cleavage and one of the others was just on tilt ;-)

A great time being had by all - took me 1 minute to recognise reddog - so i went up to say hello - and several hours to recognise Kev - as he didnt have a wig on I was struggling to place him!!!!

It has been really nice to say hello  to blondites in the flesh - one of the main reasons for joining the forum - so it's worked well. A lot of the players came for the week and said how lovely southend was - especially those from Luton.

I'm cheering on from 3 pm but dont have a connection to post updates -I'm not sure what Kev is doing..... :-(

Sorry there's not any more game info here but as I was playing the entire night I wasn't really watching the other tables!Met a guy who wanted to say Hi to the Nun - really nice guy whose name escapes me (sorry), from the North and a nice guy apart from the fact he kept raising my blind - but he did it with a smile and told me I had a nice jumper on - I tell you that table as a hot bed of poker action!!

My prediciton for today - obviously my boyfriend is a winner (in so many ways) and I know he will do well - but from the blondite side - Tikay is definitiely on form - he won at the pakm beach on tuesday - (what he actually said was I won on Tuesday - sorry I came second - sorry it was third) but he looked in control of his table here and very relaxed. Obviously cheering him and reddog on - and reddog doesn't take any prisoners!  Good luck to all of them - oh and Pulse - lots of essex women here - would be worth your while coming down instead of hanging around all those morgues....  Grin

Thanks a lot for the excellent report there Dingdell, I wish I'd gone now.

But can anyone supply some facts and figures please ?

Hi guys, just got back, tikay was last man out (14th)  before we packed up for the night I was short stacked and moved in with pocket 77 first hand this afternoon, a big stack called me with KQ and flopped the K, goodbye from me

Thee from Thine was chip leader, some others still in are Paul Parker, who was also short stacked and also moved all in with pocket 77 the very next hand after me and trebled up (bugger) Luke Smith aka the Doc, Dingles boyfriend, Two big bald blokes, James Browning, and someone else called James who plays at Luton

It was great to meet Colchester Kev for the first time, to quote Mrs Red, 'A lovely man' I'm afraid I have to agree

Had a chat with Dingdell, absolutely charming, if my colon ever needs irrigating.......

Sat next to b4matt (The nuns mate) I knew him from before but didn't connect name and face

And lastly, thanks to the nun for sending me a sloppy kiss, but next time don't get a bloke to deliver it

Ok, catch you all later, off to Walsall for the £300 freeze out, it's a tough job, but someone has to do it

Evening all ... so sorry about the updates, i was looking forward to doing them but we lost internet connection and even if we had it, security stopped us from doing the updates anyway ... because it wasnt planned and the proper channels hadnt been gone through etc etc ... but they were really nice about it and apologetic ... in fact everyone agreed that Blackpool have a serious rival in the best looked after poker players stakes ....  the valets at saarfend are absolutely fantastic, the place itself is one of the nicest casinos i have ever been in ..(and i have been in a few) ... The atmosphere was brilliant, the staff warm, friendly and really wanted to listen to feedback from the players... food was great, car parking plentiful ...all in all a fantastic time was had by all.

Tracey Dingdell is lovely, she has promised me a free treatment whenever i want one ...im not sure if that meant she liked me or hated me Smiley

I met Mel Lofthouse (she signed me in) she is lovely as well.
I also met Mrs Red ... she is far too good for Mr. Red, and has promised me that if Red gets out of line, and she decides to trade him in, my application would be looked at favourably Wink

Mr Red ...an honour and a pleasure to finally meet you sir, and the large Jack daniels that you bought me on arrival, went down a treat

I met so many friendly people  i cant even begin to mention them all.... But a special mention must go to a chap called Kevin Hicks... he is the casino Manager at Rendezvous Casino.. what a great guy, not at all a pompous, self important, anonymous "suit" like so many of his counterparts at other places ... he was constantly around the cardroom and took a genuine interest in everybody and made sure everything went smoothly, A top bloke and a great ambassador for the place .... honestly guys, if you get a chance to visit the Rendezvous at Southend ... you wont be disappointed.. I will certainly be going back, and everyone who i spoke to said the same.

Kev.
