Manchester GUKPT: Day 1B - At A Glance
«

and welcome back for the second Day 1 at the very stylish G Casino in Manchester. Once again play will begin at 4pm, people playing today include Thewy, Dewi and (fingers crossed) someone called Louie too.
This is the bare bones updating thread, to ask for players' chip counts and questions, please go to the interactive thread.

It's a random draw but todays field looks stronger since it includes:
Thewy
The Camel
'Six Levels' Rumit. (No longer 1-hand)
Thewy
Praz Bansi
Karl Marenholz
Iwan Jones
Dpommo
Dubai
Stuart Rutter
Vicky Coren
El Blondie
Chilli
Micky Wernick
The seats have been drawn and we are about to start.

155 players playing today, and they've just begun.
Camel and Karl Marenholz sitting next to each other, as are Dpommo and Vicky Coren. Dana is off getting pictures which you can only see on the interactive thread if you're a member.

Two out already.
Le bet 700 on a Q-T-6 board and was called, he bet again on the Jack turn and then 2.5k on the blank river, at which point his opponent, Andy Bradshaw moved all-in and Le called quickly with A-K. Bradshaw mucked but Micky Wernick said he saw a Six so I'm guessing he had trip sixes.
Also out is the fabulously named Mark Yaffe. He was holding A-A on a T-7-7 flop, must've been re-raised because there were two opponents holding K-K and T-T. The kings managed to escape but Mark's Aces couldn't get away.

Tales of Dubai Section:
First he loses a whole chunk after there's a limper on the button, Dave makes it 275 from the small blind with A-A, the limper makes it 1,275 with about 6k behind, Dave calls. J-9-7 flop and Dave runs into a set of Sevens. Shortly after, against the same guy i think, he doubles back up with a set against 2nd pair and a gutshot. Then I saw him pushing again on an
board against the same player's 2k bet, getting him to fold.

I just saw Marty Wilson pass pocket queens to a big bet on the random river of a random board, and get quite upset when the bettor showed his un-hitting pocket sevens.

An all-in on Table Colclough - Player 1505 holding AK and Player 1502 (seating plan arriving within 10 minutes says our friend Mr Raab) on an A - Q - A - Q - 8 board, for a slightly disappointing split. Only ran over there because there was lots of oooh-ing and rising from seats.

Dewi Pint Watch:
"Five."
Chilli, "Up to 14k, down to 12k."
El Blondie -- 9,975 "I'm slowly being blinded away." (Did just take down a pot betting 500 on a
board though).
Paul Rigg just won a chunk-o-rific pot. He bet 1500 on a
board, 3500 on the
turn and 4500 on the
river getting called on every street, his opponent mucked when Paul showed

Rumit checks a flop of
. Eddie Lundon bets 300, Hoss Parhizkar calls and Rumit folds.
Turn -
- Eddie bets 700 and Hoss (oh how I love that name) calls.
River -
and Eddie bets 1200. After some dwelling, Hoss raises to 3000 (ride 'em, cowboy!). Eddie calls, and his
is good against Hoss'
. Hoss starts to giggle like he's just got off a rollercoaster, the big loopy kind that leaves you kind of punch-drunk afterwards.

Nicky Romanello is OUT, he was short with about 2.5k and lost to Vicky Coren's nut-flush.

Jon Farrer and Rumit in the blinds both check a
flop, and then the
turn. River comes
and Jon Farrer bets 250. Rumit folds. It's all very good-natured, there's lots of pleasant laughing camaraderie here.

Rudders -- 13k
Iwan Jones -- 10k hit a set of 4's against K-T and then had K-9 on a K-K-6 board when Q-J decided to push
Vincent Birt is comfortably above 20k, he just bet 1.7k on the river of an
board, getting his opponent to fold.

Seems a bit less good-natured on Table Karl/Camel. On a
board, Alex Mah bets 2000. Karoly Kiss (oh yes...) says "you missed, huh?" and calls. He then mucks to Mah's
. He is definitely not in a good mood. In fact, the very next hand he raises to 400 utg, only for John Conroy to reraise to 1200 and Ba Aghatabay to call. Kiss (ho ho ho), finding himself horribly horribly short, has no choice but to call all-in. The
board is checked down. Ba shows pocket queens, John Conroy shows pocket tens for the set and Kiss mucks and is
OUT
. There, there. Maybe one of the soon-to-arrive massage girls will Kiss it better.
