hi all
i was playing last night when the bloke next to me asked a good question what started a good debate at the table with everyones own ideas what was best
anyway the question was what would you prefer as a special power
1. to know the flop b4 it is dealt? or 2. to know what the other guys in the pot hole cards are?
like to know what you would like and why?

I've seen this before.
has to be option 2. with option 1 you could mash up the cash games because you'd always make the right pre / post flop decisions but you'd still get out drawn. you could then go back into your pocket for more cash. as a tourney player it has to be option two because you'd always know when you were behind / ahead in a hand and would be able to get away from hands when beat.
course this is xray vision Vs seeing the future. for a red blooded male ther can be only one winner there. am I right or am I right?

Option one for me. I would love to know when I am going to flop the nuts with rags- hopefully somebody will have a real hand and pay you off too. Imagine knowing the flop is A45 when you have 23, you could reraise and get all the money in, stuff the other ones hole cards- I can normally manage to pin people on certain cards anyway.

Cant i have both!!??
I would go for other people's hole cards, i mean its all well and good knowing the flop, but you could either flop a monster and still lose. Or just go card dead and win nothing!
Knowing others cards allows you to win even if you get nothing.

As someone with very dodgy eyes, I'd quite like to be able to see what MY hole cards are. Would save a lot of misreads.

Option 2 for me. With option 1 you still need to hit. With option 1 though you will know when people have nothing and will be able to bluff them off the hand even when you don't hit.

Wouldn't you be able to play perfect poker, according to Sklanksky's fundamental theory, with option 2?
With option 1 you'd just know when you were going to get lucky...

Still one for me nomatter what you all say. I already put people on certain hands by the information they give me- the only thing I dont know in the game is how the flop is going to fall. I still think the ammount of times I correctly fold my junk hand only to flop a monster would be a huge advantage.

Russ like i said before, if the flop comes 877 and u got 78 how do u get away from 88?
What if you have 27 u call a raise because the flop is going to come 72A you call on the flop and the turn comes a K or Q.??
The other option is deffo better, you dont need to hit to win, you will be able to always wait till the river before you get it all in. So you cant lose!
