For those not aware, there are two Poker Venues in Brighton - the Grosvenor, & the Rendezvous. And they BOTH ran a Festival this week, with Main Events clashing. Hard to believe, but true.

The lack of common sense in those organising tournaments is mind boggling.  I commented a couple of weeks ago that Gala have scheduled the final of the GBPT for the same week as Amsterdam, one of the most popular events of the year.

Is there a particular reason why everyone went to the Rendezvous instead of the Grosvenor?

Mind you, Amsterdam is not in the same town.

So any idea why they'd want to try and compete by hosting their festival on the same week, lol?

Grosvenor Casinos, the land that Management Consultancy discovered, and common sense forgot.

Occasionally.

You can park for free at The Rendezvous, right on the front of the Casino, & they even Valet park for you. It's a hike from any Car Park to the Grosvenor, then another route march to the small cardroom on the 2nd floor.

Rendezvous Brighton is a Premier League Cardroom, right up there with G-Luton, Grosvenor Walsall, Broadway & Aspers.

Grosvenor Brighton, with due respect, is not. Scheduling Fessies against each other, no matter who's idea it was, is just plain daft, & sets off the "poker is dying" scaremongers.

Supply & Demand will sort it out.

Tony, thee's a carpark right under the grosvenor casino, with a lift up to the playing area.

Even so the randezvous beats it hands down as a venue.

seems obvious to me (although i am pissed) that the rendevouz deliberately scheduled its fessie
to coincide to pull punters away from its immediate competition . no?
seems like a good plan.

If they schedule their event for another day, they don't have to pull any punters away.

Yes, but The Grosvenor Car Park is generally full. There is ALWAYS free space at the Rendezvous.
