Its a sad day from my point of view, he was a brilliant character and always entertaining. Not something that can be said about most managers.

Baron what odds would you give me on him being Barca or Real Madrid manager at some point in his career?

It depends on a few factors.

In the ever changing world of football I wouldn't like to give odds as many things could be different in say 5 years. Either club's board could change or Mourinho could adopt a new footballing style for example.

But with the current boards at Real and Barca and the demand of the fans to play beautiful football, as well as Mourinho's ugly (but winning football) he wont be going there anytime soon.

madrid ruled themselves out when they his  style of football doesnt suit the real philosophy, barca? maybe ..there was alot of people on sky sports news this morning saying it was a done deal that he was going to spurs - an irish bookie even closed the betting on it , wasnt paddy power not sure who tho.

the appointment of the ex isreal manager stinks of the same situation hearts find themselves in where the chairman basically picks the team, is this a done deal or is he just a caretake boss?

id be willing to bet a few quid shevchenko starts every game now

It should be interesting to see who they get long term (someone other than this guy surely). Manager’s talk and any of the bigger name managers are going to hear how it is from Mourinho - I don't think too many would be happy with a high level of board room interference (though many that have managed RM, Barca, Milan etc might have had it before). As good an opportunity as Chelsea is to a manager to let him win things, it’s a bit of a poisoned chalice now.

The player’s reaction at the weekend will be interesting. I'll admit to taking a little pleasure should there be a mass exodus at the bridge, chaos breaks out, abramovich leaves, and they have to start ground sharing at the cottage.

Looks like he'll be appointed the new Inter Milan manager in the next 48 hours, starting from June...

Why go to a league that is dead?

He'll be proving he can win with an all conquering team. Not very impressive to be honest.

I've always thought since Porto he's lacked the real hunger to go into massive challenge though.
