Just before the break, Hendonmobber Joe Beevers was felted by Dave Clark junior, the former Late Night Poker star the victim of a cooler with 7-8 versus Q-8 on a rainbow 9-T-J Flop. Beevers now wearing a face as long as the equator.

-------------

The charismatic, but truly bizarre Peter Hedlund may be silent for the first time since the start of the comp after pushing all-in with K-Q on a J-T-x Flop and being called by Kings. No help and the cheeky Swede is sent to the rail where I'm sure his tale of woe will be shared with all and sundry.

-------------

Dave Clark has been shot down by the bullets, the American Airlines that provided him with a double up earlier coming back to more than level the score by being bust by a flush draw, and then the Pocket Ladies which enjoyed a threesome. Dave Clark failed to recover from the final bullet and is now pushing up those poker daisies.

Joe Grech, Max Pescatori and Alan Betson are all OUT.

-----------

Mohamad Kowassrie is OUT, he had 20k at one point but self-admittedly didn't ultise those chips well before eventually making a move with 5-4 and being caught by K-7. He flopped a Five, but was re-outdrawn on the Turn.

Pete Linton has exited, after knowing him quite well from Gala in Nottingham, he is quite capable from going from chip leader to out, or a bowl of rice to chip leader in mins.  I asked what happend but all he would give me was:

"I made the wrong move at the wrong time" & "I got Scandied"  Ul Pete.

Also Iwan Jones was left nursing a 2K stack after a QQ v AK confrontation.  Iwan flopped a third Q but the board brought 4 spades with matey holding  .  Iwan even had the  .  I said "thats gross" he said "Its just standard!"

There is a Gutshot player called Tony Phillips who just raked in a massive pot totalling about 65k.  He caught nearly the whole cardroom's attention by shouting quite loudly after knocking out a Russian player.  He was heard shouting "YES! You called me with 10 high?"  On further inspection, Tony held 88's and all the chips went in with one card to come when the Russian held only a hopeful open ended straight draw and flush draw.  He missed the lot and Tony Phillips has about 70,000 and Negreanu, Lieu & Dewolfe on his table to impress with his stack.

Karl Mahrenholz, who said he "towered over Phil Gordon at the World Series of Poker Europe" crashed out in a hand that would make an Ultimate Fighter crumble to his knees and plead, "no more bad beats like this again!" All-in with K-K versus A-9, all looked peachy in the World of the Mantis when the flop came A-K-T, but an Ace Turn and Ten River later and Karl was left to retell an eye-watering outdraw that is sure to bleed sympathy out of even the most stubborn of non-bad beat listeners.

-------------

Stuart Rutter is currently on 13k, although he was on more until he payed off a Q-J on a T-9-8-7-2 board with J-T. He seems to believe he could have got away cheaper.

Meanwhile, the barmen here at the Vic might be happy and preparing for an affluent night, but Keith Hawkins isn't too chuffed, The Camel exiting the tournament with T-9s just moments ago.

"Tooooony, Tooooony Cascarino, Tooooony Cascarino in the aaaaaaair," is what I used to sing in the stands at Villa Park, but now I'm watching him from a different type of sideline, of the poker variety, and watching him double up to a much more playable 41k after struggling for most of the day. I arrived late with hands on their back so am unable to relate the betting action, but the pseudo Irishman had versus on a three diamonds board and looked as happy as coyote at a roadrunner convention by the time of the River card.

-------------

Verbal wonder Roberto Romanello doesn't need to talk his opponents into submission, he can flop a full house against them instead, which is exactly what he do when he stumbled into and an three clubs Flop. With Roberto's initial bet being re-raised all-in by his nextdoor neighbour, Roberto instacalled (quite literally) and shoved in his chips quicker than a sheep at a Welsh farmyard auction. Mateyboy showed , so was virtually drawing dead.
