mind you if it went 50 >>150>>>400 on this board and I had bottom set that might qualify as an "almost fold a set" board

i Fancy youre ahead here. All in and close your eyes and hope you don't get outdrawn. Other hands KQ & AJ.

sits back and waits to be shot down in flames...................

Disagree.
You are rarely ahead here. Good pass. Your hand is relatively transparent. Theirs isnt.

Yep. With that action it's an auto fold on virtually any board without a King.

(Anyone calling here should probably play tournaments instead.)

Is it purely because its harder to lay a set down?

Bottom set beats 2 pair and has redraws against a flush/straight should that hit.

77 is significantly stronger than KK here against a single opponent (who has JT within their range) but generally I'd be folding it in this situation.

Understand all that guys but richard said he put one of them on a set so my theory was if he had bottom set would he still fold, even though he has less outs.

yes but your question didn't specify whether I was the one with 77 in this spot.....(pedants rule ok)

as I said above, it might have been a fold for me there to that action

sorry meant to say why WOULDNT he fold 77 on this board. As KK is in a better position than 77 here. Yes? No?

It depends on their range but generally 77 is better.

Against a higher set, KK (~8%) and 77 (~4%) are both drawing thin. However against 2 pair, and drawing hands 77 is significantly stronger.
