Yes, I have Snoops.

Sudden pain can be caused by a recent fall (as Jizzemm mentioned) but it can also come on through years or months or bad hip alignment - due to bad posture through excessive periods of sitting with legs crossed, tucked under you or behind chair legs etc etc.

My was through child birth - which i dont think is the reason for your cause lol

Get yourself along to a good osteopath - one which I would recommend you could choose via recommendation if you can.  I was paralysed 6 years ago for a very short period of time and could not walk after that for a further 4 months and could not sit in an upright position.  I was told that I would NEVER run again, never be able to do any form of exercise etc etc but I was recommended to an osteopath and my god, what a difference and a blessing it was.  after only 4 sessions I was able to sit up for the first time without any pain whatsoever and i could walk unaided.

After 6 months I was back in high heels, I could jog, and climb up stairs again.

Could be that all you need is some gentle manipulation around the hip area to realign your joints.

If you are interested and would like me to ask my osteopath to recommend someone in your area then send me a PM

Hi Snoopy,

Really sorry to hear this - my son damaged his coccyx in an accident (no rude jokes, thank you, lol) and it is no fun to live with.  I suggest you see a Doctor and check out just exactly what the problem is and get it treated.  My son, , underwent many varied treatments including physiotherapy with ultrasound and acupuncture to name just a couple.  I would strongly recommend the use of a coccyx cushion especially in the car (with frequent stops, if poss, to stretch your legs and change position) and when playing online and writing reports.

Feel free to pm me if you have any further questions.

All the best.

Did mine in snowboarding a few years ago.  Really really hurt for ages, couldn't sit down without pain for about 2 weeks.

Got better eventually though

Have to say that a Coccyx injury is no joking matter and I hope that it is just "Bruised" and not something serious.

Try a lumbar support, in the car and at the poker table, dirt cheap and they really can help relieve the preesure which can be put on the lower back due to bad posture etc.

Thank you for everyone who voiced concern. I went to the doctor a week or two ago, but all he did was briefly poke the area (over my clothes) before writing me a prescription for 84, I believe, pills of Ibuprofen.

In hindsight, I think he fobbed me off and didn't even attempt to diagnose the problem. However, I am going to give the pills a go for the next seven days, and if the pain is still there when I sit down, I shall contact my chiropractor (as one lives just a road or two away) and make an appointment before Christmas.

I hate having niggling injuries like this, not because of the pain or discomfort, but because I fear death and become overly and often unnecessarily paranoid. The biggest gripe I would have, was if my damaged coccyx was something serious and I'd failed to go to the right extents to rectify the problem, which is why I'll be heading to chiropractor in the upcoming weeks. I suspect it's nothing life threatening, but you just never know. The most likely scenario is that I have a posture problem.

Finally, does anyone know if a lack of pain is a sign that the Ibuprofen has solved the problem, or could it just mean that the problem is being concealed and that once I stop taking the medication, the pain will start up again?

Ibuprofen doesn't solve anything mate..it just hides the pain and gives the body time to heal itsself without you being in pain. The body ussually heals itsself just fine..remarkable thing really.

Seriously Snoopy, get another opinion and the Ibuprofen will only mask the symptoms.

I go through (and so does Harmony) some excruciating pain with my Ankylosing Spondylitis and the combination of the pain killers I have to take only help to take the edge off, that is all pain killers really do.

Please get checked out again.

Ankylosing Spondylitis

Is it just me or does this look like a medical term that someone made up as a joke?

(i know its real and painful sounding before anyone says anything)

lmao..Snoops probably had them do an MRI and CAT-scan and all that...and check for Malaria and SARS...a bit of a hypochondriac our Snoops.

Good thing he doesn't realise that a coccyx injury can be lethal if there has been a fox in your vacinity(300 yards) in the last 3 weeks Smiley
