Been trying to bgetba new job for 10 months. Something very specific.
Sent out over 100 online applications and cvs.
Last week sent out 1 paper cv to a high up manager, got a phone call monday evening followed by immediate job offer as someone had dropped out last minute (1000+ applicants for 8 positions)
New career starts on Monday, working offshore as an ROV pilot technician.
It's possibly a major ship it, but I like to try to be part of the gang now and then.

Lolz, shipping a £50k+ job is normally pretty major. WP and enjoy. What did you do before? It's actually something I have always fancied but you don't find too many firms taking on trainees. (which I would be, sighs)

i spent 14 years in the army as an avionics technician, got out Dec 2007, and found myself in the rail industry for the last 3.5 years.
not 50k to start with though, be lucky to get 30k as i am starting out as a trainee myself, however in 2-3 years..........
PM if you want to chat about stuff, i can point you in directions, but as above, its very difficult getting your foot in the door, i just got very very lucky!!!

The Grove is a fantastic hotel.
£300+ per night.
Played with Warne at the Aussie Millions, decent bloke - didn't mind sharing some cricket stories which he must have told hundreds of times before.
Bit egotistical, but when you're as good as he was, suppose you've every right to be.
Enjoy the weekend.
