The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Highland Park is a good shout.

Bushmills... not so much. My friends call it soil whisky as they reckoned I was playing a trick on them, it was just Bushmills though.

What have you tried and what do you like?

Bit of a bump here

A customer gave me a bottle of this today.

I need to know is it worth saving for a special event or just drink it over the next few days.

Regards

Great bump btw.  I really like whisky, and would like to try some different stuff.  Can anybody give me some recommendations for a bottle for around £30?

highland park 12 yo

+1 for this. Or spend a wee bit extra and get the 18 year old. Pure nectar.

I'm just getting to the tail end of a bottle of Bushmills, previously had Glenmorangie.  I think I prefer Bushmills however there isnt much in it.

I have a glass now and again so a bottle will last me a good few months.  Maybe I should invest a little more or just stick with what I know and stop looking for new things!!

glenmorangie is probably my least favourite single malt.  and people keep giving me bottles of the stuff!

The best Whisky you can buy is Springbank. You wont find it in the local supermarkets though.

MBSFN!!!!!!!! Enjoy it sir. It is a fairly pricey bottle, but if it was me, I'd be getting on it straight away.

Weird.

Never seen this thread before, but I think I can give a +6 to Highland Park.

I love the Islay whiskys too, but they really are an aquired taste, and are very much on the border between nectar and dogpoo.

And I don't know how anyone can slag glenmorangie when glenfiddich exists.  Glenfiddich would spoil a good coke in my view, but I can drink Glenmorangie.

The best bad blended whisky has always been teachers.
