At every casino ive played this is concidered a minimum bet. If you put in multiple chips without saying a word then the bet is the value of the chips. If you put in 1 high denomination chip without saying anything then its a minimum bet.

Why cant peeps just say raise or allin? Then the game flows and there is no need to call the floor prolonging the agony of having to sit in a live game and these threads wouldnt waste another 2 minutes of my life!

These threads wouldn't exist if certain TDs didn't know what they were doing. I personally never utter a word when making a bet (unless I don't have the required change or can't be bothered moving my entire stack). No particular reason for this, it's just the way I've grown comfortable playing the game. I know all the rules wrt making bets such as the oversized chip rule etc. One would hope TDs/dealers also knew the rules.

lol playing at gala in leeds

the rulings go in the favour of 'house favourites'...... and during times of ambiguity - whatever Rose shouts out is the ruling - usually when the cheating moose isnt involved in the hand!

[ ] i am allowed to play there
[ ] this really upsets me

If you are facing a bet or the blinds, say nothing, then chuck a 5k chip over the line; you have caalled. If you are betting and you throw a 5k chip into the middle then the bet is 5k.

That said, I have to say that I greatly appreciate players offering commentary on their actions. It doesn't take much to state your intent. I do it for the benefit of the game. Return me the favour and it'll go smoother for it.

Exactly!

Total ignorance IMHO.  Just say 1000, 2000, or all-in etc.... and all this nonsense dissapears. Is it really that hard just to state the amount ?
