He wants more money, just like the rest of us - which is fine but he would never come out and say that unlike the rest of us.

Disagree, once you get into the EPL paygrade.

It's the choice between being uber rich and a bit richer. His life will not be affected by the difference in wages between say 80k per week and 100k per week.

More money you have- the more you want. Big difference between those two brackets imo

Let me rephrase - 4 mil a year and the chance of trophies and playing in the champions league. Or 5 mil and year and play Man U in the derby twice a season before your season is over.

Where is the 4m a year and the chance of trophies and CL though? Its not villa surely?! Before the end of his City contract they must be starting to challenge - not if they keep spending all their money on holding midfielders though!

surely 80k @ a top team would be worth more than say 120k at City. How many city players do you see in regular tv ad campaigns/mags etc? the sponsorships/spin off deals would more than compensate for the 2mill a year.
Im just don`t think anyone wants him anymore tbh.

Rumour has it we did an 11th hour bid, as did Spurs, but a good 3-4m shy of what City offered.

will be interesting to see if liverpool will stay contenders next year but thats a side issue. I can fully see why man city would make sense for barry:

1) u can grow stale at a club- obv this how barry felt

2) first team football and not a squad player at arse, pool etc

3) man city will be making waves in the transfer market.

4) money talks
