All home safe and sound, but not without drama, ffs got to the hossie, booked in sat in waiting lounge, everyone else was being seen by the anethietist then going to get gowned up,all bar me,asked nurse what was going on and was told dont worry they haven'nt forgotten you,15mins later a registra calls me and we go into a side room.He tells me that i have no pre op notes and unless they can get them they will not be doing the operation as it is against the law.

He asked me what the consultant looked like so it would make it easier to track him down, like i could remeber exactly so said about 50 ish bit portly and wears glasses..

1/2 an hour later he comes back up to the now empty lounge and gives me the thumbs up,phew.

get to see anethetist all ok there no allergies/asthma etc were good to go,registra comes in and talks about what what they are going to do and draws a big black arrow pointing to the knee,i asked wouldnt the massive swelling and shaved knee give you a clue? procedure apparently.

All gowned up and get this had to walk to the theatre, 1st time i have ever done that was quite wierd really walking into an operating theatre, anyway i get on bed and surprise surprise my note are not in thetre FFS wtf is going on in this place,10 mins passes with calls and nurses to and froing b4 someone comes in with them phew, begin to get the knock out drugs through the face mask and told to count back from 10 got to zero and was asked am i sleepy? No not at all, oops he said i'll need to increase the dosage, hold on right count back again, got to 4 and gone and out.....

woke up feeling well spaced out yum registra comes round and tells how it all went but cant remember a thing as was still flying about,

but when i was compus mentus they told me that the tear was so slight it wasnt worthy of trying to repair and that there is mass degeneration of the cartlidge and a synovial biopsy was taken and that they had used 5 litres of saline to clear every thing out but they will be looking at biopsy results for rhematiod arthritus..

2 weeks min time off work then see how knee is fk i'm going to be skint.

On a slightly worrying side note the medication that i am taking are what that dr who tried to abort his girlfriends unborn baby and can cause death.Methatrexate and diclofenac arrrrrrgg

Twisted the knee I've had the op on last night at rugby. Didn't hurt as much as when I messed it up but it has ballooned. Don't fancy another op. Is it likely to be easier to do once you've done it once?

Should be 3 small incisions either side of the knee and the middle.
