I'm expecting news of MAS domination this morning, noony, rockstar & boer made the final. And the old man who kept finding aces when people moved all in!

The MAS are trying to copy me though by eating curry and smoking fags mid tourney. I'll take that as a compliment.Smiley

It was getting light as they crawled out of the G this morning, the birds singing from atop the green car park skip as the scarves and baseballs caps were peeled off and thrown into the back seats of various beamers and rockmobiles.
It had been a marathon all right but no endurance issues for our top two, the winner rejuvenated by a stint shmoozing Stacey Solomon, Olly Murs and co at Essex's no.1 nightspot, the runner-up just happy to stay in for more than an hour.
Three players shy of bonus points unf, though I think we should all get points for having to endure John Black's poker etiquette masterclass.

The £5 rebuy is not treble points on Sunday......it's quadruple points......nah, not really, Sir Donksalot refused to take the bait, normal scorage. Just japes.

Meh - I was actually contemplating coming out of retirement for the 5er triple point donk-fest on Sunday.
The offer seemed too good to be true.
Clearly it Woz!

Not sure how this affects he points, but there was some saveage last night.

6 officially paid, but a deal was agreed whereby 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th ALL got £50.

I can't recall the exact finishing positions, but I think Dame Edna, Luther, & James Miller all fell within that saver group.

Also, with 4 left, at silly am, an (almost) even chop was agreed (1 x £600, 3 x £550). Bit early for a deal, IMO, I as I still had over 4 x BB, but, for the sake of goodwill, I reluctantly accepted it.

Rockstar suggested that as only 2 of the 4 choppers wre Leaguers, he & I should play a 1 hand turnover for 1st & 2nd, which he won.

Good fun.

An oddity.

I don't recall playing that Thursday Comp previously, but it's 2 x 5,000 chips (plus early reg bonus), & a very slow structure, such that it's an all-nighter, it was way beyond 2am when the Final formed IIRC.

Anyway, we are playing away, with Blinds at 2,000-4,000/400, & the Blinds go up.......to 2,500-5,000/500......!

I don't ever recall seeing that Level in a regular scheduled Tourney at Luton before. Has my memory failed me?

Yep, it's been a part of the this tourney since they brought it in.

Still no 3500-7000 level though, despite several complaints to Alistair, who still runs the G cardroom I believe.

Some things in life are beyond my understanding.........

I really struggle to understand poker players sometimes.

Last night, I did an uncharacteristic thing & in Level 1, for no good reason, & with no need, made it 225 (there was one ep limper) with  three diamonds

I get looked up by the limper-ess who was holding

The flop was    three diamonds

So, as you can imagine, there was some action. The flush rivers, I am pretty sure I'm good, & my value bet is paid off, & I double up.

So I don't understand MY play here at all, but there you go.

Now here's the thing.

I then sit, utterly card dead, for FIVE hours, happily sitting & nitting, pass pass pass. I think - God's honest truth - I played 3 hands in those 5 hours.

2 Tables left, I have 27k at 1k-2k/200.

EP Raise comes in from a quite experienced player, nice chap. He makes it 6k to go. He's playing about 60k.

James Miller, also playing about 60k, now makes it 24k. (Approx, can't recall exact amount).

After some Oscar-age, I bravely shove my 27k in the middle.

Now, what hand do you think I can possibly have here? What is my range, here? I KNOW James cannot pass for 3k, so this ain't no squeeze.

But now, Matey Boy, the Original Raiser, with whom I have shared tables for 5 hours, so he knows my range, jams the lot in.

James, resignedly, let's go, thinking no doubt of that lovely side-pot to be.

My man Tables

How can you explain that?

I don't need to tell you my hand, but they held, & that was that.

Is that not THE most peculiar thing?

Tis good to raise with random hands imo.

Saw the weirdest thing last night. At 400-800 (75) there were three EP limpers and then Mr X makes it 2800 out of a stack of 13800.

Weirdest raise ever. 3800 makes far more sense. One caller then builds the pot to around 10k, into which to shove the other 10k, and it also might get thjrough, but 2800?

This feels like a pot-builder to me with KQ or something like that. Obviously never going through, so must be something that potentially flops well.

Anyhoo, Mr X gets two callers, both with similar stacks to his own and then jams the 972 rainbow flop with K3 diamonds!

Asian guy makes a hero call with A2 for his tourney life and obv gets ul when the king binks on the turn. Another case of bad play rewarded?
