Doctor Girdlestones,

Good luck with this if it's really what you want. Your work and weightloss stuff is definitely more important so def bol with that - hope it really takes off for you in the new year.

You do mention that you're on a losing run and have several leaks in your game yet you're playing £150 & £300 comps, which isn't exactly peanuts to people our age. However, to play this kind of stuff and expect to have a positive expectation you should be putting a lot of effort into your game and I never see you really posting on PHA.

Most of the guys who are winners on blonde will do things like read 2+2, get involved in PHA, have a training site subscription and dissect hands with each other. I'm sure if you were to put some effort in and build your way from smaller stakes you'd be able to do it.

One day you might even be as good as The Salfi.

The leaks i mentioned have just crept into my game that last few tourneys ive played....little mini things like not betting flops when i should. I played a few £150's and £300's as i thought the better standard would help my game as i would be less likely to get donked on by muppets. Quite honestly the ways that i have been eliminated from these tourneys are pretty standard beats. I looked at these games as giving it a shot to try and win big which hasnt happened!

I never post on the PHA cos the few times i have done i have been 'mocked' for! So id rather not post on there! I do often talk hands through with people tho.

Like i say im trying to play poker as a social aspect rather than looking at it as a way to make an income from.

Thus i dont wanna subscribe to a training site cos really i cant afford monthy subscribtions.

2010 is my year to concentrate on things other than poker! I may still play the odd game but i hope my plans work out and i wont have time for any poker whatsoever!

Cheers
if your playing poker socially hy are you playing 150to 300£ tourneys?
and(i assume you) selling a peice of your action

if you cant take critiscism or getting mocked then maybe you should not play poker

my pc is being vpissing me off at the mo and i cant type the rest of what i was going to say coz i feel like smashing my monitor and keyboard up

Thanx for this excellent response Paul Ho!

Was playing the DTD games cos i was taking a shot!

[X] hope u smashed ur monitor!

mate you know your a good player deep down and who cares if you folded AQ to Lawrence Gosney lol, You say your not betting flops when you should be well add that to your game and make a change,  from now on stop playing gala where you get your  sick beats and just play £100+ games  and before you say you have played the £300 at dtd your not going to win the 1st one you play.  stick at it and im sure you will cash very soon

im going to play the £100 at blackpool on saturday i will give you £20 for 10%

[ ] would never fold  pre flop to Gosney

mate i only play cash now at gala i had a little bank roll but not end up needing it 1st game i sat down with £150 and left that night with £620 then i have used that and took iit up to £1600 in 2 weeks

But i did lose £300 of it last night played 2 hands in 40 mins    >>>>>   FYP he hits the  on the flop and then  >>>>>> FYP

If you were going to play cash all you need to do it get there 10pm stick to the tables where you know you have the edge and when all the chinese players sit down get the hell out cos you will get bad bet

if your playing not very well and not very confident whats the point in playing the big buy in tourney?

play the smaller donk fest tourneys.
get youir confidence up
then take a shot. when you think ur playing well and feel good.

a good player will adapt his game to the donkeyness at the table. so you cant say you always get sucked out by a muppet.

You can't play cash  long term without a bankroll simple as  , you will go broke ver quick. I understand what your going through and think bit of time off will do you good. The game is getting harder to win but there is some easy money in tourns at gala  you just have to adapt your game and grind it out , one decent win will give you a bit of a bankroll, I have seen yor game and think your a decent enough player but at gala I would just loosen up a touch I am missing playing there cos never won as much money as I did at gala., but like all players had that dry spell. I read and learn about game all time and there are lots of sites with free info. You have to work very very hard to get anything out of poker but if you not motivated to do that then just play for fun ,it's been a great replacement for my social life since stopped playing rugby and have met se good friends.
