did you happen to see the thread on 2+2 about the $12 45's lots of people claiming they are dead too many regs etc someone sharkscoped the whole field there were 13 five figure winners and 13 who were in the red was a little scary!, link is below wondered what your thoughts are?

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/61/mtt-community/12-45s-seeing-lot-familiar-names-768560/

Scary thread.

I thought the 45s were particularly reg infested when I played in January which is part of the reason I moved over to Full Tilt. I was considering moving back to Stars until I just saw this lolz.

I know Longy had a tough start to the year when he obv usually crushes, and every week I tell Ray he's playing well and I don't know why he isn't winning more!

I'm not too worried about it,As a couple people on the thread said a lot of the regs play bad anyway.Gimmedaloot is #1 on sharkscope leaderboard and he's not to worried so it's not to much to be bothered about.I'm not very happy that my roll has got as low as it has due to the last couple weeks but that had nothing to do with them being reg infested and I'll hopefully have a good week this week.

seems like every game is 200-400 and there are still 25 players left, it seems like everyone has cottoned onto the fact that most of your +ve expectation comes from just not getting knocked out early on.
i have had a horrid start to the year as well, just recently added the 180's back in and its going a bit better. oddly enough i cant remember seeing you at the tables monda we must play at different times.

Hmm,wouldn't you say your +ev comes into it later in the comps when your shoving/calling ranges are better/more accurate than most.Plus understanding of ICM obv. There are still enough fish in these games imo and like I say some of the regs aren't that good neither.

push-fold is important obv it's also a lot sexier when we try to kid ourselves that we are actually playing poker, so i did a little research (i'm sad) i looked up the last 1800 45 man results for a few winning players and counted up positions 31-45 bear in mind that i considered this a leak of mine lately hence my poor showing or maybe im just a bad reg.

moon&back  373
raventhon   315
longy          293
mondo       305
gimmidaloot 300

if we were too play averagely ie finish ib every position equally we would have 600 finishes between 31-45 but as you can see we are all about half that which in my opinion is huge, not getting knocked out early its not sexy its not exciting and your not going to get loads of people signing up for a training site by teaching it but IMO getting to the shove fest more often than average is just as important as knowing what to do when you get there.
cheers

What I meant was pretty much all the regs know to be really tight early on so we don't have an edge over them by knowing this whereas not all of the regs are shoving/calling anywhere near as wide as they should be.Obv there are quite a few other factors that give us more of an edge but that's the main aspect between winning at these games.

PS LOL at the actually playing poker comment Smiley

Decided to change days at work so I could have today off and will go to work next Wednesday so that I could play to try and get platinum.

Had a sick good start to the session which I was more than due so decided to lock up a good day instead of grinding the rest of the day.The reason I decided to do this was I was a bit concerned at my roll going as low as 1.7k since a couple of bad days would have had me in a bit of trouble.I'm really chuffed to have the good day I've had since as I say I was worried about my roll going low more than the actual profit for the day.We will see whether I manage to make platinum or not but if I don't I'll soon be back platinum next month. The computer came to 665 in the end but me dad's mate managed to get a fiver knocked off for me wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Smiley It's coming tmoro night so I'll hopefully have it setup to get back grinding properly on thurs.

Games today : 34
Profit today : $537.50

Current bankroll : $2287.60

To be fair, if ever there's a spot to do it, it's when you're going through a bad patch.

I've just been speaking to Simon and said if my roll is 3k+ I'm always grinding the day through but with my roll i don't think it's to bad an idea to stop. The fact we discussed that if I had couple more bad days I'd have to consider just playing 6's for a little while then I'm just pleased to lock in a 500+ day.
