The guy sat to my left on Saturday told me he'd folded AA to an allin on the first hand at a UKIPT, I wasn't paying a lot of attention at the start of the story so missed the bit where he said which venue, but from other snippets I believe it may well have been Newcastle.
The story went something like this...
"First hand of the UKIPT and this guy has just come back from winning a tournament in Switzerland or somewhere and he's being dragged away from the table to do an interview and he looks at his cards and just jams.
I've paid £500 to enter and driven four hours and I don't want to take the risk of being out on the first hand so I folded"
ye that was me.. long way to come up from southampton just to get it all in wiv AA pre. the guy could of had any two so why would i wanna gamble ^^
Surely the answer to this is to not put yourself in a position where outside factors will have a significant adverse affect on your ability to play the game. We don´t have all the details of the hand (players left to act etc) but in this instance because of outside factors you made the biggest mistake it is possible to make in poker (preflop assuming you are against one opponent).
