Once in a while, you hear a song and go "Wow!"

Keisza, Hideaway. One for the electro and dance people. It builds brilliantly.

This just came on the car radio while I was taking my teenage daughter out.
Right, I thought, time to cash in those cool points Tal promised me.

'This is that new Kiesza tune, gonna be massive this summer'

Daughter: 'Nah, this is gonna be massive this summer'

So who will be better at predicting a hit? The funky fresh but fickle fourteen year old?
Or the dance music aficionado, even if he is only a few furlongs behind me on the gallop towards middle age.
Only time will tell!

I thought about it and decided not to spare her blushes.

Doesn't she write beautifully?

Your daughter has excellent taste because she rightly notes that My Love is a belter. No doubt. But it is way more of a Cafe del Mar sunrise tune than a 2am house anthem.

Hopefully, she's a redlight fan, too:

Hopefully she won't be judging her music by what it sounds like a dawn or 2am for a good few years yet!

All three are already on the generic music player.

Never been a huge dance fan, was more of an indie fan in the 90s, PWEI, NIN, Ned's attomic dustbin etc

but now and then i like to drive the wife mad in the house by playing various tunes like this :

Also have a nice little DAB radio in the kitchen permanently tuned in to Absolute 90s

Here's the above tune sampled to death. Interesting fact was Tiesto opened with this on his first ever weekly podcast Club life back in 2007, we are now on number 370 odd or the likes.

Ok ok ok,

i did say i wasnt a big dance/house/electro fan so i'm not going to get into a song war with someone else when we are all individuals

but this tune is one of my all time favourites, certainly not to everyones taste, but the lyrics and music work very well together in what is essentially a very dark song

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5J_qadIwM60

the entire album is worth listening to imo

I wasn't dissing your song choice, I just thought it was funny that you and Tal had both posted songs I thought were the old dance classics.

In the "so bad it's good" category surely, everyone at some point must have tried the running man to this:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN7XEB31uow

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QEPrDBMqJ0

i'm a fan of both, but much much prefer the first song to the second, takes me back to my late teens working as a glass collector and knocking off on a thursday night to go to the nightclub 3 doors down for indie night, Doncaster of the 90s, awesome times
